Emily Cooper, M.D., Board Certified Family and Sports Medicine
Dr. Cooper is the Medical Director and Founder of Seattle Performance Medicine. She has over twenty years’ experience in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. She holds Board Certifications in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine.Dr. Cooper’s unique style actively engages patients to participate in their healthcare. This method effectively blends medical assessment, fitness and exercise, nutrition and stress management into routine medical evaluation and practice.

Derek Rueber, BSN, RN, CPT – Registered Nurse
Derek earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University and is also certified as a Phlebotomy Technician and in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. A Seattle native, he teaches Stand-Up Paddling and Surfing, and worked in a homeless clinic before joining the team at Seattle Performance Medicine.Derek is currently working toward a Wellness Coach certificate and a Nurse Practitioner certificate. He says that aside from the patients, who are the greatest anywhere, SPM is philosophically a perfect fit for him because it really makes a difference in people’s lives.

Brady Wright, BS, MA, CSCS – Exercise Physiologist
Brady holds a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from California Lutheran University, where he was active in intercollegiate soccer and track.  After spending time in corporate fitness he pursued a Master’s program in Exercise Physiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also taught physical education, coached soccer and created strength training programs for cancer survivors.  Brady is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Health Care Assistant.  His love of fitness, people and the belief that “exercise is medicine” is why he chose a career at Seattle Performance Medicine.

Tony Kuehn, BS – Exercise Physiologist
Tony recently completed his Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State University, where he was drawn to the field of Exercise Physiology because it was science based. In Texas he worked at a treatment Center for troubled youth in San Marcos. He is a Certified Health Care Assistant, is working on a certificate as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and looks forward to earning a Master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science.  Tony feels fortunate to be part of Seattle Performance Medicine, a science-based practice, where he can apply his knowledge to a diverse clientele, ranging from elite athletes to the general population.



Lauren McCool, BA – Administrative Assistant
Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Christendom College in Northern Virginia, spending time studying Art History in Spain and Italy, where she became passionate about cooking local and organic food.  After college she worked in television production in Birmingham and most recently in a dental office specializing in children’s oral health.  Lauren is excited that her interest in a comprehensive approach to healthcare led her to Seattle Performance Medicine, which, she says, helps so many people who can’t find help elsewhere.

  • Kainoa Pauole-Roth, MS — PauoleSport
    Kainoa holds a Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and Certified Personal Trainer from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA). Kainoa is also a former full-time faculty member at the University of Hawaii in the Health and Physical Education Department where she taught Exercise Physiology, Sports Nutrition, Prevention and Treatment of Athletic Injuries, and Principles of Coaching.Pauole Sport provides athletes of all ages, experience and abilities with a comprehensive and personalized training program for multi-sport events. Pauole Sport will give you that competitive edge!
  • Ann Goett, ARNP, MFT — anngoett.com
    Ann is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Nurse Practitioner. Her unique combination of psychological and medical backgrounds helps her work with the whole person, both body and mind. She is especially interested in helping clients heal old wounds so they can optimize their creativity, reach their full potential, and maximize their joy and happiness.
  • Beret Hamilton, LMP – berethamilton.com
    Beret is a licensed Massage Practitioner.  She uses a combination of techniques including Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports Massage and Myofascial Release.  Beret is a Premera Insurance in-network provider.
  • Henry Lu, PT, ATC — velocityphysio.com
    Henry Lu holds a Masters of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from University of California, San Francisco. He is also a Certified Athletic Trainer. He has been working in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation since 2003 with special interests in spine, foot/ankle, and hip rehabilitation. He utilizes his extensive training in manual therapy, Primal Reflex Release Techniques, and movement analysis to assist each individual in achieving their fullest potential. He is currently part of the consulting staff for the Pacific Northwest Ballet and School.
